teflon wheels
hi just wondering when Rolex started using the coloured Teflon coated wheels in there movements and wondering does any other brands use them too??
here is a random pic i stole from the internet. (for those who don't know the Teflon wheels are the redish ones)

I believe those teflon wheels are actually synthetic rubies.

Sorry not true the two red wheels are just fabricated from a light alloy, and then coated with PTFE (Teflon) mostly started from the 15XX series movements.

I think you are looking at the wrong "wheel" in the picture... the one with the teeth is apparently the teflon coated one. The little "jewels" are what I think you are talking about, right?
