Bulova Valjoux 7750
I'm looking at this Bulova chronograph with a Valjoux 7750 movement, near mint, box and papers. The seller wants $375.00 U.S. Google searches have found sites selling the 7750 movement only for around $325.00 U.S. Killer deal? So, so deal? Opinions?

The 17 jewel will be the older 21,600 BPH, Valjoux 7750,not like the newer 25-jewel 28.800 BPH movement, but still a very good price.

Thanks, Padi. Is the older 7750 as reliable as the newer 25 jewel? Any known points to watch out for?

Yes in many ways a slower beat movement can be better, but perhaps just a little bit harder to fine tune. The valjoux movements are all pretty bullet proof and very reliable. And spares or service are easily done by any good watchmaker. They do a older version of the 7751 17 jewel with the added moonface complication.Must say I quite like it and a good looking chronograph for very little money.

As long as the condition is good, and it doesn't need a service right away, it's appears to be a good deal.

Yes just one of the quirks of the 7750 but not quite as noticeable in the 17 jewel version, now on the 25 jewel you can feel it plus hear it.And when the Valjoux 7750 are COSC tested its in the top five with the ETA 2892 that pass first time. The most reliable first time pass movement the swiss COSC test is the Rolex cal 2035 ladies movement.
