Oyster Bracelet from 5513 Submariner (1974)

I have a very worn original Rolex oyster bracelet from my old 5513 Rolex. The clasp is OK but the internal links are worn thin at the edges from so many years of wear. It has been sitting in my drawer for years. I am currently using a replica oyster bracelet.

Is there any value to such an old Rolex wrist band? I was startled to see that many collectors like old, worn and even ugly Subs as long as they are original.

Yes. The old warn bracelet has value. It at least has the Rolex trade in value if you want a new Rolex bracelet.

As is often the case, it depends on the condition. If it's really banged up, there will be less interest in it. If it's simply a bit stretched and scratched, someone may be interested as some stretch is okay and light scratches can be buffed out. I recently bought an old, stretched bracelet that was manufactured the same year as my 1680 head even though I had a nicer bracelet that did not match the year of manufacture of the head.

Do you have clear pictures of the band that you can post?

Very Worn Rolex Bracelet from my 5513 Submariner

Here are the requested photos of this bracelet. The middle links are worn thin at the pivot points; my name is coarsely scratched into the flip part to allow the wet suit thickness; no extra links . If anybody wishes to place a bid, I will wait 3 days and then go with the high bidder. Thanks.

There is this Michael Young in HK who help people restore broken and worn bracelets. I have heard good things about the service. Do a google search or search in this forum if you want to repair it.
