Excellent choice. Is it the grey or black dial? I personally prefer the grey one even though I am generally a black dial guy".

Hi guys,
Sorry for the delay, not trying to be a smart ass, I thought I’d be able to post this morning…. I’ll start by saying that this is a great watch! I am a big time car guy as well as being a vintage watch fan, so the original 1970 Tudor Monte Carlo has been one of my faves for quite a while. The prices have just continued to rise over the past few years however, too rich for my blood, especially since I like to wear my watches regularly. So as you can imagine, I was pretty much hooked on the Heritage Chrono as soon as I saw the first pics from Basel, it was like they created it just for me! Well it finally arrived yesterday, and the first thing I noticed on opening the box, was the box itself! I know others have described it, but it is just so way beyond anything that I have ever seen from Rolex before, I hope this will become their new standard! The watch is beautiful in the flesh (I had only seen pics), it definitely has that Rolex heft and feel. The detail work and finishing on the case and dial are also true Rolex, the band is very well done as well with the typical oyster look and feel. The clasp is far nicer than anything I have on any of my Rolex’, but my most recent one is from the nineties... I have fun researching everything to death before I buy, so I’ll admit that I was a little concerned when I first began reading the hubbub over the HC's movement. I will say now that after having read pretty much everything that anyone has written on this topic, that I have full confidence in Rolex and their choice of movement/module for this watch. Yes I of course would have preferred an in house Rolex movement, but the only current Rolex chrono that I know of with an in house movement, starts at $12500! Audemard Piguet, Panerai, Breitling and countless other high end watch companies use high grade ETA movements, so if this movement/module combo is good enough for the Royal Oak Offshore Chrono, then it’s plenty good enough for me. I would like to take some pics of the watch using cars as backdrops, but unfortunately the weather is not cooperating. You’ve all seen many wrist shots on the HC, so for now this will have to do until we get a bit of better weather. Paul |
