New Crystal - UK Service Item??
Hi all,
I have scratched my gmtIIc crystal, and popped into St James Street, London to ask how much to get it fixed. The answer was more than I expected, £100. So I said I would leave it until service. The gentleman explained that this would not be included in the service and the extra cost would be added. I always thought that the crystal was replaced, hence the common etched "s" service crystal, and I thought out of service the cost was only £50 ish?? I would appreciate if anyone could confirm or deny? Regards, Chris |

Only acrylic crystals are replaced gratis during a service - sapphire crystals are counted as an extra, and as pointed out, usually cost around the £100. Depending on how bad the scratch is, it might be easier just to put up with it

Thanks Chris, I figured Rolex HQ would probably be giving the correct info but was surprised.
Think I an live with it for the time being, would prefer to put the £100 towards another watch! Regards, Chris |
