catalog dissapointment

I went to my Ad tonight to make my second payment on my Daytona, which is sleeping peacefully in the vault untill loves first kiss wakes her....

I asked my AD if the new catalog had arrived...Yes, she said with a smile. She then put the catalog with new price list in a nice bag and I was on my way home....When peering into the 'new catalog'I noticed that it was not new but the old version with a new price guide!

I called her imm to tell her what had happoned, she was obviously sorry but had not looked herself. Its possible that the main branch sent her the old versions by mistake...I nicely asked that she look into the matter and put aside a current version for me....after all , I have bought 3 rolexe's in the past year and think a new catalog is the least they can arrange.....

Whats the deal here...are the new catalogs out or not...I have been asking and waiting for too long now, and dont understand why Rolex takes so long to get them distributed....??? any ideas guys???

My AD had a new catalogue which had the new explorer, so I believe they have been published.

The new catalogue is out and I have a couple from different ADs. My experience is that you dont need to purchase a Rolex for any AD to give you the latest catalogue.

True. I understand your frustration.

But to be fair, the new catalogue looks the same as the previous one to an untrained eye.

Alot of times the AD just look at the date and year on the price list at the back of the catalogue. Guess there is no pride and joy in giving out the correct catalogue as far as she is concerned

Seems a bit silly, getting "pissed" about a catalog.
I never take up the AD's offers for catalogs, etc, it would just end up in the landfill the following week. As for other Rolex trinkets, if they're offering me more than the watch, I didn't negotiate well enough.

It's a catalog for goodness sake, relax I'm sure they'll get you a current one.

The funny thing is the new catalog is nearly the same as the old one.

So I guess the new one will not make you happy.

What is the big deal about a catalog? Just curious. Do you collect them?

Its not about the catalog...its about doing your work well...I work really hard and put a lot of time and effort into every detail of what I do. Today I filled in for somebody during my lunch hour and made sure that everything was in tip top order even when it was not my responsibility...

when I Make a special trip to the AD to pay lots of cash and ask for something so small as a 'new' catalog, then I do expect that I would get what I asked for...I specifiaaly said 'new'...The store was also completely empty and she had nothing to do...just think what would happon if we all were so lax in our work...thats the point....

By the way Im not reaaly pissed or angry...just a bit...irritated..but then again not any more....

Received a new 2010-2011 cataloge & 2010 Canadian price list in the mail yesterday from my AD. The 2010-2011 is stamped on the spine of the catalogue. Last years catalogue did not have anything written on the spine.
