Love them or not, they sure makes an impression!
Ran across these for sale on the big auction site. Maybe the purists don't like the idea of PVD'd Rolexes but I can't help but think they look HOT!

Not a purist here. They look good! Any idea how durable the PVD treatment is?

Hmmm, noticed Time and Gems website had very similar content to the Watch Empire Designs website and it turns out they are the same company, same address.

Anyways, I don't generally like modified ROLEX, but I've always been drawn to the PVD/DLC Rolex's. I don't know why

I don't think I could do that to one of my own watches, but I have to admit those look good. Very interesting treatment of the TT GMT.

I love Rolex of course however SINN make a similar looking robust bulletproof easy to read at a glance from factory fully warranted for 20 - cents on the dollar cost wise which I have looked at closely but have not bought one. When you see an all black watch on the wrist compared to a stainless tool watch there is no comparison. The black version looks as if it could be worth $300 not $6K. Blacking it unless you are in the Forces - seems to cheapen the look of the Rolex. Alternative brands are immediatly available to meet this look.
Rolex should be left as Rolex. To each their own - just my 2 cents.. |

No.
Why does someone always make a similar post about looking like a G Shock or Casio etc. Some very expensive, prestigious watch companies similar to Rolex make a PVD model and no one calls it cheap looking so why does it make a Rolex look cheap? Sorry, this argument does not fly to me. Like it or not from an aesthetic perspective is fine. Some like a PVD watch, others not so much but saying it looks like a plastic $50 watch is just silly. It IS a ROLEX and just because it is black doesn't take away from that fact. Just my 2Cents.

Not for me, sorry but of course I am a purest and can't see modifying a Rolex for anything apart from the occasional nato band.

Jas that SD looks HOT! Who did you have do it? I might have to pick up an older SD and do it. Couldn't make myself PVD one of my newer Role's but that is just cool!
I picked up a BR a few weeks ago and it is getting lots of wrist time. I don't know what it is but I have always liked certain watches in black.
