do any of you feel like rolexes are too small

I have been wearing panerai for awhile, went through many rolexes, a few panerai, now have traded my panerai, and am contemplating my new watch...I feel like subs and gmts are too small...I'm not that big, but, the deep sea-which I had for a month, was just too heavy and uncomfortable...anyways am I crazy...or does anyone else feel that way? suggestions? I wish they made a 42 or 43 mm sub or gmt

Wearing a Panerai would make anything else seem small. 40mm Oyster works perfect for me. But it's all relative.

I have owned 3 Breitlings prior to getting my Daytona a couple of weeks ago and i honestly feel that the Daytona size is perfect. I did used to like the big and chunky style of the Breitlings but I have been converted. I do still like the Breitlings though1

I think as you mature in your watch tastes, you'll find wearing a smaller (<45mm) watch is more tasteful than the bigger counterparts.

I used to have 7.75 inches wrist and liked big watches. Now it dropped to 7.25 inches and the 40mm GMTIIc fits perfect.

Someone wrote once about guys with satellite dishes on their wrists... Personally, I max out with the Omega SMP ~42. I think the 40 Rolexes are perfect, and the 36 TOG is a nice change up.

Depends on the size of your wrist. For me, anything between 36-40mm looks great. The Breitlings make me look like a child.

Larger watches, say >41mm is begging for attention, saying "Look at me, look at me".

40mm watches are confident and comfortable with themselves, perfectly fine to be missed by the those who strive to be cool and trendy.

I'm not saying that big watches are a fad, as it is true that watches are trending to be larger. But within each generation there will be the large, small and in-between watches. For me the 40-41mm range is perfect in the current times.

Really depends on the size of one's wrist. I wear a 40 mm Panerai and numerous Rolexes.

I totally understanad where you are coming from. I remember I use to only wear 36 mm watches... now that I have 40mm watches... I started looking at the 42-44mm... But I think I am going to max out at 44mm.

One reason I switched from Omega to Rolex was because of the fact the Sub and GMT are 40mm while Omega seems happier producing 42mm+ watches. The 40mm size suits my wrist far better and I am a lot happier with it.

So no I don't feel Rolex make their watches too small.

40-44 is just right for me. But it seems like 40 is just perfect when it comes to Rolex designs.

I too agree...My Omega SM GMT is 44...and when I put my on my 116713 in 40...it seems SMALL! but after wearing it now, it seems PERFECT! (and my Omega too BIG)

In truth...I love um both...and they both have their place on my wrist...but my Rolex is seeing all the "time" right now...and I am LOVING it

You have to get used to whatever you are wearing if you switch between sizes. If you came from Rolex, you would have found a 44mm Panerai too big initially but after a couple of days it seems "right".

The same holds true the other way around. Unless you are a very large man, getting the new Sub Ceramic and put it on the wrist for 2-3 days and I think you will really like it.

Also, agree with you that the Deepsea is not optimal for everyday wear. It is a superlative piece but personally I think they went overboard on it.

Some brands have taken themselves off of my wish list with their sizes, I don't buy anything over 40 mm so Rolex is about right.

Try a 40mm Panerai........they wear larger than a Sub but more comfortably than a 44mm PAM

I started-out with a Flav-o-Flav Breitling super avenger at 48.4mm. My tastes have been refining over the last several years, and I now think the 40mm Rolex sports line is the perfect size for me. If I had gorilla arms, I might look at something larger, but my 7.25" wrist likes the 39.5mm 16600 the best.

For me the 42mm is about as big as like. I see Rolex taking the next Daytona to 41 or

I do wish that Rolex made a 42 mm sports models. I have an average sized wrist, but love the presence of a 42mm watch, such as some of the Oris divers, PO or the new tag diver models. However, I love the Rolex designs and quality moreso than most other brands, and even when I can find another brand that offers 42 mm in a design I really like, their cases often are so thick that they make the watch look ridiculous on my wrist.

Unless you are really, really big, I feel that 40MM is perfect. At my size (6'2 240 lbs), I don't like the 34MM or 36MM watches as I do believe they are too small which limits what I will buy from Rolex. Realizing that most people are nowhere near as big as I am, Rolex probably makes the right size for the majority of the market. However, anything bigger than 40-42MM looks silly too me unless, as I said, you are REALLY big. Giant clock watches I think are fad.
