U.S. Army very cool pen!!!!
Although I have no knowledge if the Army uses this pen it is licensed by the U.S. Army.
After looking at all the depressing grey and black steel tactical pens, I came across this one and it looked well balanced without looking too aggressive/offensive. Importantly it has the facility to screw the cap onto the opposite end when in use. It is made from 6061 Aluminium and takes Fisher Space Pen refills (and possibly Parker too). Anyway at $23 I thought it was a pretty good deal so I'm now awaiting delivery.

That looks pretty cool Steve, just don't drop it in the grass, you may never find it.

Interesting, the camo looks first Gulf War-like but the all black clip clashes with the camo look. I've never seen it anywhere. I wonder if the other branches have one like it?

Nice pen Stevo.
Here is a pretty interesting story about the low-tech Skilcraft that the US government including all the branches of the military use. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...041701297.html Blind workers assemble the pens in factories in Wisconsin and North Carolina under the brand name Skilcraft as part of a 72-year-old legislative mandate. The original 16-page specifications for the pen are still in force: It must be able to write continuously for a mile and in temperatures up to 160 degrees and down to 40 degrees below zero.

If that thing didn't say US Army on it, I'd probably get one. Of course I always support out troops, but I don't like having service-labeled items since I'm not in any branch of the service.

Well guys I received this pen today and I've got to say it is:
EXCELLENT The weight is fantastic, not heavy at all. The build quality is very well detailed, all aluminium with a great camo coating. In the hand the pen feels really well balanced with or without the cap. The cap screws beautifully onto both ends as required for writing or storage for a precision fit. The grip is extremely comfortable and not too thick or thin, just perfect with precision cut grooves so your fingers will not slip. The size allows the pen to fit comfortably in a top pocket. The icing on the cake is the standand refill is a medium black which works fine, but (Fisher proprietary) replacement refills of the finest quality and range are available from Fisher Space Pens which takes the writing performance of the pen to another level again with the range of colours and thicknesses. The standard Fisher refill works with the plastic extension which comes with each refill and fits on the rear end of the refill. As I have said in another thread Fisher makes uniquely outstanding ballpoint refills that are IMHO the best ballpoint refills on the market today. Excellent buy and my No. 1 choice for a tactical style pen.

This seller is the cheapest on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Army-Military...#ht_1982wt_901 If you go to the first post of this thread, you can see what appears to be 2 different colours. I'm not sure if there are 2 different colours or if it is just lighting. Anyway the colour of mine more closely resembles the colour in the second (bottom) photograph in the first post of this thread.

In the first post there appear to be two colours.
What colour would you call the first photo? Is the second colour tan? I can't work this out.

Typical Army pen is that black retractable ball-point, just like the rest of the gov't.
