looking all over for vintage submariners

I'm looking for some vintage submariners in authorized stores or auction houses such as sotheby's or christies. I am in northern jersey and if there are some auctions out hear i would like to know.

I love the 50th anniversary sub or a red sub.

I heard tourneau has a good selection if you call them.

Also wondering how much the price range for a red sub and a 50th anniversary would cost.

The anniversary or "LV" Sub isn't typically considered vintage... You can still find it new at some dealers... I'd hazard a guess at roughly $5k-$6k depending on condition, etc.

I can't help you as far as auction houses for the 1680 red Sub, but I know they run around $10k upward depending on condition, documentation (boxes, papers, services, etc.), and dial type (feet first, meters first, font, etc.).

I found this article in departures about vintage watch sellers in NYC.

Does anyone know of any others in NYC? That are highly reputable? Im tempted to go to central watch company in grand central station. But they only accept cash.

I would strongly encourage you to study and learn as much as you possibly can about the watches and their various iterations. This forum is a fertile source of information, much of which can be gleaned from everyday reading of posts, comments and opinions. As your knowledge increases, you will come to know who is reputable and who is not. You are more likely to have greater success and be happier in the long run with your decisions and your ultimate purchase(s).
