Do You Like Your Watch To Look New Or A Little Beat Up?

Hello Friends,

I'm the type of person that likes his watch to always look new. I'm constantly cleaning them. I even walk around with a cleaning cloth in my pocket. In fact, if I'm at a party and someone asks to look at my watch, I'll hand it over to them to inspect , but after they return it, I usually excuse myself (use the washroom) and clean the watch (yes I'm a freak, hence the user name). Just wondering what type of person you are...in terms of your watch that is? Looking new or a little beat up.

i like my watches looking like new and clean, but not to the point of crying and yelling when i put a scratch on it.. (been there done that )

watches are meant to be worn and just give it a wash whenever is required

Much like a classic car the occasional dent and scratch can add a good deal of character but there is something to be said about a well kept piece...to each his own I guess.

I don't own one yet, but I voted for looking new. Who wouldn't want their expensive purchase to continue to look in great shape?

Read about vintage and patina and you'll see.

I doubt i'll be getting mine polished anytime soon. But then again i am extremely careful with my belongings. Already owned mine since august and even my clasp is still in like new condition.

If you have to clean your watch after someone handles it, you either need to seek cleaner friends or therapy.

Seriously, I like a normally used watch. Not a beat up, but used; and not so clean that I have to fight my compulsive urges.

Funny that you say that. That's why I purchased the small Oakley vault case. Now I rest it inside the vault case and no one can touch it but me.

New like the first day I bought it unless of course it is a daily wear watch. Either way, any scratches can be buffed away.
