So. GMT Master II, Seadweller, or LV Sub?
Hi all.. I've been buying and selling as a hobby(i guess) and have been looking to get a Rolex sports model now. Currently wearing a vintage datejust.. i think its a bit too old for me. I have 4-5 g's.. Which model do you think is the best?
Gmt Master II Coke/ Pepsi, 16600 Seadweller, or LV Sub? I like em all and they're all about in the 4 - 5 range.. soo thanks.. |

Tough choice, they're all comparable watches with interesting stories. If it were my money on the table, I think a Pepsi GMT (because simply that is the original GMT look) would edge it, closely followed by a 16600

I'd go SD.... Even though I have the others. Great rolex... Classic design. Right weight and size for everyday. Best all round watch.

The GMT is quite a versitile watch get the three inserts then 3 watches for the price of one.My own preference would be the SD as I am not a huge fan of the cyclops. But if possible try them all on, the one that smiles back the best thats the watch to buy, both SD and LV share same Cal 3135.

Tough choice! All are fantastic watches to own. If possible, I'd try all on to see which smiles back.
Good Luck! |

All great watches and I have the LV and the SD, but if I only should choose one its the SD. No cyclops and I like it is thicker and heavier than the other two.

All nice watches but if pressed to make a choice I'd pick the SD - it's tough (probably the toughest of the three) and looks great.

SD based on the lack of cyclops. I own a SD and GMT II. Ill never part with the dweller.

My first Rolex was the Sub LV. Still loving it. Looks very good on the wrist.

All are great but having to chose only one I like the SD for it's size and feel on the wrist.

Ok, thanks everyone. I'll opt for the Seadweller. I do like the no-cyclops and thickness.

There is a few nice ones in the for sale section but you will pay for it as they are getting harder to get. DavidSW has a nice M listed and you can't go wrong with buying from him. |

SD for me
16600 Seadweller for me. Had a GMT II with the 3 bezel inserts and got bored. Had a SubDate and got bored. LV is nice but never had one. Sold my SD and I regret it.

Tough decision for you. SD is the toughest/best made, although the LV has the maxi dial and can be worn with two bezel inserts (green, black). The GMT II is best if you travel a lot (3 bezel inserts avail). Good luck and happy hunting!

Similar topic involving the 16610 LV on one of the posts. So my statement remains as below:
"I will go with the LV. Nice ones especially the Y & F serial will become more rare than a GMTc. Well, not to mention prices..." I will still add that I can still choose to get the others later given more abundance in the marketplace... |

I have all three, and would find it difficult to choose one over the other, which is why I suppose I ended up with all three! They are all discontinued models. Starting with the SeaDweller is an excellent choice.

All fantastic watches. However, instead of asking for other people's views why not try each on and decide which you like the best?
