Has the fluted bezel always been gold?
As many of you know the fluted bezel on stainless DJ models is gold. Was the fluted bezel every made out of stainless? If so, for how long and when did the switchover occur?
Related question: The inside links on the two tone jubilee bracelet are gold, but on the white gold/stainless model, they are polished 906L. I assume the same holds true for the oyster bracelet. Where they ever white gold? |

Fluted bezels have always been gold - either WG, YG or RG. In much older times, Rolex did produce a similar looking bezel in full steel which was called the ENGINE TURNED BEZEL. Oyster bracelet centre links are either YG, RG or steel - never WG..............unless the entire watch is WG as in one particular SUB model. JJ |

nice
That engine turned bezel can really tone down the sparkle on the DJ. I've got an older DJ that had a diamond bezel added, and I was looking at the stainless bezel as an option to the bling. Yours really looks sharp with the silver dial.
