You really don't need to buy from an actual AD new, to "get that feeling out of the way". Get it BNIB from a trusted TRF seller, and you'll get much more than "that feeling". At the AD you give them your money and you get the watch. When you buy from one of our trusted sellers, you give them the money, then needlessly sweat, worry, look out the window for the FedEx truck, etc. Personally, I got a better feeling that way than going to the mall and paying $500 to $1,000 more for the same new watch...Sorry for hijacking your thread, Elisabeth...Half the fun of owning a Rolex is the hunt...

Hello ..and welcome, Elisabeth.. -
To answer your question, NO, - there is no 'Golden Rule' as to which Rolex one should possess. The Rolex brand stands for itself - without a doubt. When it comes to owning one, for the 1st time or the 5th time, it is the watch YOU like most, looks the best on you and feels the best one you... irregardless of what others may think. It's the one that 'tickles' your fansy.. to treat yourself. It's special.. and should be special to you...!! . That's how I feel about mine.. I waited for a long time to find it, at the price I was willing to spend for it.. and got it.. from a trusted TRF seller on these boards. . If (or when) I should look for another.. it'll be for the same reasons..and criteria.. Good luck.. You'll find it...!!

The rule of retaining resale value dictates that Sports SS models retain their value better than the others.
That being said however go with whatever makes your heart skip a beat. |

both of your choices would be great..
Chances are that you will catch the bug and then buy more that one.. They are all great, even the off brands. |

Vist an authorized dealer and try on some Rolex watches. This is the way to find out which model is for you.
