It's just a listing error...
Should read 03' or 04' as you said... Watch is legit as is the Ebay user...... Should also be a 29mm and not 26mm!! Typo is my explanation.

Do I need to?
It's a listing error! They probably use a template for the listings and in haste, missed a few things...... I'm not saying it right, I'm saying the watch is fine and so is the seller.I've personaly dealt with them before.... I'll message them myself, and have them correct the listing!

In the unlikely event that the watch was actually sold as NOS and dated this year 2011 by AD then would it not be considered a NEW 2011 model even if it has F serial?

Could have been sold yesterday, a long run, but possible. This is what rolex means by the SERIAL is not EQUAL to year. (Year of production maybe, but not year of actual sale)

I wouldn't consider this watch "new." New means a card instead of a paper certificate, engraving on the rehaut, a recent serial number, etc... I would call this mint.

This is clearly a typo .
New ? what is new ? unworn ? A rolex can sit 10 years on the shelf at an AD and until it is sold and the warranty stamped the watch is considered new for Rolex and will be under warranty . |

Some sellers overstate obviously the BNIB and New descriptions.
By the looks of things, Rob (sleddog) knows them and therefore I would say they are legit, just their descriptions are a bit flakey. Rob will contact them as he said and get them to correct their listing. John |
