6k budget

Hi folks,

I've had a bond mature and have a £6,000 cheque clearing as I type.

I want a new watch and am happy for new or old (in good condition).

I like the Submariner Bluesy & Daytona (black face).

I live in London and would welcome some suggestions on good dealers or websites.

Thanks
Mark

Talk to an independent AD. You could get a nice new 116613 TT Bluesy for under £6k.

I went to a AD on holiday in Las Vegas and they quoted me Over $9500 + tax @ 8.1%. Which was around the £7k mark?

Can anyone confirm the RRP's on the daytona and bluesy

Is there a new 2011 bluesy by anychance? read somewhere about a sub date bluesy?

TT Bluesy RRP: £7580
TT Daytona RRP:£9930
SS Daytona RRP:£7000

New model Bluesy has been out since 2009.

You should be able to get c15-20% discount on the TT models mentioned above. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Las Vegas is one of the worst places in the US to get Rolex discounts, so I wouldn't take that as indicative of typical selling prices.

Yes . . . there you have one big reason why discounts are hard to find in Vegas, plus the number of people coming in those stores is so high, plus many people get so disoriented in Vegas that full price seems just fine . . .

Vegas, Great place to visit and look.

Terrible place when looking for a deal.

Howbout a Datejust or DJ2. If you think the GMT looks too much like a Sub than maybe you shouldn't get another sports model. DJ's are a great choice because there are so many different options, I'm sure you can find one you love. I have my Sea Dweller and Datejust. I, like you, enjoy my watches to be very unique from each other since I can only afford to have 2-3 expensive watches at once. I want them to be distinct.

Without offending I feel the date range is a bit old looking for me, happy to be proved wrong, but my dad sports a lovely day date so that may be why I prefer the sports range.

I'm quite happy to buy a used model if the price is right has anyone experienced watchfinder.com ?

Ideally I would like a Daytona as I spent years thinking they were unobtainable
I also feel the bluesy could be seen as slighty ostentatious

I'll stop babbling now!

I'd get a nice WG/SS DateJust II. Perhaps with a white sticks dial.

Sound like you're really set on the Daytona and I don't blame you...I just got my SS V-serial with black face last year and I've wanted it for a while.

The best thing to do is save up and just be patient - as for finding a new SS Daytona you can likely get one in the UK, but you'll pay over the odds to have it - maybe 7,800-8,000.

I have a friend I can check with and will PM you if he's got a SS Black Daytona in stock.

Good luck in your search!

I wouldn't buy anything at Wynn or Encore
There is better deals at the smaller AD's in town.
Have it shipped back, forget about that sales tax
too.

I popped into Rolex at MGM and Bellagio and both had similar prices, didn;t see any other ADS

I spoke about the tax and they advised fed ex (or similar to UK) to avoid such costs apparently anything over $300 can/will be taxed not sure at what rate.

Update may be holding out as I'm off to the U.S in Sept (Vegas) and Feb (NYC)

Understand Vegas is regarded as overpriced, New York the same?

I'm be able to pay cash if required
