Watch case dilemma
I don't have a huge collection by any stretch, but I have some great pieces. I have only 8 pieces now, but when added to the 16 watches my wife owns, there are just too many to keep in their original boxes in our safe.
Can anyone here recommend a reasonably priced watch case that can store all these pieces together that we can fit in a safe? Or perhaps two separate cases, (his and hers). Thanks, bob

Believe it or not, the Container store has a five slot watch box thats not bad. I have several and they stack nicely in my safe. They also have a larger one but it was to large for me.

What is the name of this stacking box? Or would you be able to post a pic of the box? Thanks! |

I just bought some Pelican cases from Amazon, the ones with with precut self customizable foam. I have not transfer my watches into it et as I only just received it.
Have a search on 'pelican case' on WUS. Its air tight, water proof, shock proof and almost destruction proof, comes with pre fabricated holes at both ends for two locks. |

Here is the watch box from the container store. It holds six instead of 5 which means I have more watches than I thought I did. This is not a bad box for the money.

That case looks good. I`ve always been a fan of glass lid cases so I can see what's in there.

Hard to beat Pelican cases for storage. Top notch protection and lots of available sizes. Definitely not a presentation case, though.

For a leather box with a glass window, I think Fossil's is hard to beat at their price point.

Watch Cases
Just a few points to consider when purchasing watch Display cases,
I recently bought a nice 10 Watch Case and was initially very impressed but later found some watches didnt fold around the cushions very well (some stay in a "D" Shape when off the wrist) which meant they stood up a little in the Box marking the lid, and the ladies watches seamed tight on the cushions (more pressure than a wrist would apply) no fault of the manufacturer just the variances in watch styles. In the end I bought some Oakley watch vaults (very good) which fitted the Submariner and some Larger watches perfectly regardless of the D Shape versions, but I did needed to create Cushions / Pillows/ Foam to stop the ladies watches floating in the case even in the Small Vault which incidentally fits the Submariner Spot on. Also consider the external size of the Cases in relation to your Safe they measure a lot bigger than you think especially if you have a lot in your collection. Hope this is food for thought as i ended up with a mix and match storage collection due to the above reasons Alan |
