Stretch
My father bought this watch for my mom when I was born .. My mom has slept and showered with this watch everyday since except when the watch was at RSC in NY .. It's hard to believe that I am getting old .. LOL

Cars, electronics, & just about any purchase made that long ago, would have been in the trash years for years by now... but you can stretch out the bracelet, but you just cant kill a Rolex...

The Rolex did pretty good. I bet you stretched lot more than that after all these years.

New bracelet would be a nice surprise. Also- search here and you will find a person here in US that restores bracelets. He does great work but can't remember his name although maybe someone will chime in. I have it saved on my other computer not on iPad.

I seen some where the watch can be set on side down and the head turrned so it's back rests flat on the table.

Can someone explain what causes the stretch...? I know its a silly question, is it just the pins that hold each link get bent or something?

Ok .. To answer all the questions at once .. I am in my 30's, yes I have streched, and I actually bought my mom a lady datejust with the president bracelet last december for her birthday .. I would love to buy mom a new bracelet but she wont have it considering that my father has passed away a year ago this month and he bought her that watch when I was born .. I believe she will agree to have the bracelet restored .. My mother has only worn the watch I gave to her on two different occasions .. I dont know if it is because it is a bit dressy, or if she still feels attached to my dad through her date model .. I have more than one Rolex, but I tend to wear my dad's TT DJ 16013 just about every day .. I am impressed with the Rolex brand and how they are built to last forever
