This show has put me to sleep on both episodes, Spartacus blood and sand 1st season blows this away. I have a feeling Game of Thrones wont be back next year.

It's already been renewed after the first episode.

I like it. Sure there is not blood and guts flowing everywhere. It's a slow building show that is definitely going somewhere. There is a lot of political intrigue, backstabbing, and power struggles. It's a solid drama, it's not an action show.

I like how there are mystical creatures and magic but for the most part they are treated as stuff of legends and not as a part of everyday life like LotR.

It's not for everyone, nothing is, I recommend giving it a try.

Yes, Michael, I agree it's a whole lot of political intrigue, backstabbing, and power struggles--just like life.

Spartacus is simply awesome. The first season and the prequel are amazing. I think you can watch them on Netflix.

Best from HBO in a while.
Lord of the Rings as political drama, and
without the action! I love it!

LOVE IT. The books are awesome. I have been a fan since the first one came out.

Season 2 is already signed. The second episode ratings didn't drop off from the first which is very good.

I didn't know, Chris, that the series was based on novels. Thanks!

The TV show is really good. But seriously, READ the books. They are fantastic and far deeper and more detailed and more clever than the series.

I promise you - you will not regret reading them.

I really like this show. There's so much going on and so many characters it's a little hard to keep track of, but the show's got just a great cast and you can sense there's full backstory that enriches the show's mythology. I'm glad it's coming back for season three and I hope it's around for a long time.

I've also watched Camelot, over on Starz, which is very similar. Before each show started on their respective networks I knew that, in all likelihood, only one would survive. After only two episodes of Game of Thrones, I can say the one to thrive will be HBO's offering. Have you guy watched Camelot?

Both thrones episodes put me to sleep, Camelot put me to sleep in about 5 minutes. I think Camelot is dead in the water, but I'll give GoT another chance.

I loved the show! I was pleasantly surprised by it, and yes It might not have as much fighting as other shows but the sheer quality of the acting and storyline makes up for it in full!

Definitely one to watch.

I thought it a bit hokey with all the primitive sex and disembowelment taking place.... at a wedding? Constant dropping of F bombs in those times...like it is used today? Really? No, I wasn't offended...I just thought it a little much, a bit silly. I loved the opening though and was at first intrigued by the "walkers".

I remember seeing that show advertised prior to my vacation but I forgot to set up my DVR to record it.

Is it too late now to start watching the series after missing the first two episodes?

I liked Spartacus too, but its very different, maybe even
the opposite of Game of Thrones..... With Spartacus you
get some of the most gruesome and beautiful killing/maiming/etc
imaginable, plus they even throw in lots of scenes of exotic (as
in strange and probably never existed) Roman bedroom habits.
Of course its great viewing and good tv too.

Okay so I watched the first two Episodes of Games of Thrones last night on the DVR and I have to say I was not impressed. I was pretty bored overall. I found some of it a bit hoaky as well. I don't think this one is going to stay in my rotation. I was definitely hoping for more.

I looked forward to this since they started advertising it but the tight b*st*rds at HBO/Sky haven't paid for the subtitling so that's 15% of the viewing population that won't be watching it anyway.

Better than Camelot but not as good as Spartacus.

I read that Camelot didn't get renewed, so not sure there will be a season 2. I've just begun a marathon of Game of Thrones, on episode 7 now, and it is very good! I wish there were more shows like this.

I thought Camelot was just OK, primarily because I thought King Arthur wasn't that tough.

Also I just bought the Game of Thrones audio books so looking forward to those!

I agree Camelot would have been a success if they had cast a better actor as Arthur. The guy who played King Arthur just wasn't believable and looked liked like a total wimp.

You must not bore easily, I couldn't get past episode 3.
