Question for GMT owners

I'm considering a GMTIIc.
When you look at your watch to get the time, do you find the "second" hour hand to be obtrusive? Do you have to look twice, or do some mental deciphering to "tune out" the other hour hand?
Thanks.

Nope. Only look or see the 2nd hour hand when I need to use it. Being that its green, it doesn't stand out like the regular hour and minute hand.

This. The green is great for the 24 hour hand.

Slightly off topic, the green font for the title of the watch is nearly invisible, I wish that was slightly more prominent!!!

I own five GMT watches as I travel a lot and having that 24-hour hand helps in determining what time I can call family or work in the US.

If you have not decided which watch to buy (SubC or GMTIIc), I vote for the GMTIIc in SS or TT.

I have owned the GMTIIC and currently own an Explorer II Polar and don't find the 24 hour hand the least bit distracting. In fact, I have to really focus to read the 24 hour time, because all I see when I glance at my watch are the standard 12 hour hands.

No issues. The green blends into the face, but easy enough to see if you're looking for it.

I don't notice the 24 hour hand unless I'm looking for it. It's dark and needle thin, so it just blends right in. The second hand even stands out more than the 24 hour hand.

It was really odd for me. I didn't even see it most of the time, Seems incredible, but true...always puzzled me.

I'd be more worried about the PCLs blinding me when worn in sunlight.

It seems that on the GMT IIc you cannot see the green hand anyway....
Well, on the pictures, I can barely see it. Why did they make it green??

My first was a rootbeer, and I never had a problem with the extra hand. Although I always liked the Rolex-GMT movement, I probably used twice in 30 years.

I hear you. I probably wouldn't use it much except when I was in Southeast Asia or something. It's just that the bezel totally does it for me. Very cool! The bezel on the Sub looks anemic in comparison now.

Most people when they look at their watch, they don't see any of the hands at all! The next time you see someone glance at their watch, ask them for the time, and they'll look at their watch again!

Just curious. How do your watches get stolen. I thought San Jose "silicon valley" should be a safe place

The lady who lives across the street said she has seen zero problems in the 41 years she has lived there - until two weeks ago when her home was burglarized and they took her safe. A week later I was hit. The cops said there have been a rash of recent robberies in the area. A crew they think.

I may as well post this question in this thread (as opposed to starting another): GMTIIc or Two Tone Blue Sub C ?? Pros and Cons?

Any tips from you experienced guys would be very appreciated.
I have to make a decision soon - I feel naked now without a watch!!
