My first Rolex - Oyster Perpetual 116000
I have been lurking here for awhile and have learned a lot. Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge.
For the last few weeks I have changed my mind daily about buying a Rolex. I can afford it, but it is still a good deal of money for a watch. I finally made a decision and bought my first (and most likely only) Rolex today. I had intended to get an AirKing but the AD's recommendation & the 36mm case on the OP changed my mind. I took some pictures and thought I would share. Mandatory in box shot Whole watch Closeup Extreme Closeup Night + 60 sec shutter |

Thanks :) The more time I spend with this watch the more I like it. I do have a general question though. How accurate should a Rolex be? IOW, how many seconds a week should I expect it lose/gain?
I ask because my watch has lost about 5 seconds in the day that I have had it. This kind of surprised me since my inexpensive Sieko does better than that. Since my watch sat in the AD's display case for who know how long (serial V60XXXX) before I came along, it most likely hasn't run in awhile. Does that affect anything? TIA for any comments ;) |

Congrats to this awesome watch, love the lume numbers dial
Give the new watch a bit of time to run in, the specs are -4/+6 sec. daily rate, so it's good If any worse, it can be adjusted via watchmaker |

Thanks again for the comments. Here is a lume picture that is less extreme than the one in the OP. The bottom is out of focus but IMHO it is still a nice shot since the eye is drawn to the Rolex logo.

Nice choice! I much prefer the Oyster Perpetual to the Air King. The size looks slightly better and I have never liked the cursive writing on the dial of the Air King.

Thanks for the kind words. I really love this watch!
When I purchased it I thought it would be my only Rolex. Now I am researching which Sub I will someday buy ;). I just wish Rolex wasn't raising its pricing so much. |

Thanks for the comments :). I really love this watch but it hasn't gotten much wrist time though since I picked up the SubC.

Congrats - A Really fine looking and sized Rolex.
Re the accuracy - there are many here that could advise better than me, however had it been fully wound manually when you picked it up? Also there are posts on here that explain the effect on accuracy (when not being worn) when laying the watch down in different ways. e.g. on it's side crown down/up etc. Nice avatar too |

Hey. Love the watch. I too have been "lurking" around the website and have been debating with myself between the 116000/silver dial, and the Explorer. This will be my first purchase, too. Glad you're happy with your decision.
