I've had Subs, Date Justs, Sea Dwellers, GMTs etc and never thought to check any of them to see how close to midnight the quick set date changes without manually rotating the hands. I thought I'd watch my SD a few minutes ago and the date snapped over at about 7 seconds past midnight.

I knew it would be fairly close but, is that typical? Wow!

lol. Mine is almost 30 years old and snaps over about 2-3 minutes before midnight... Still not 100% sure cause it happens so fast I keep missing it. ; )

Forgot to come back last night, my mine clicked over about 8 seconds before midnight.

My 7 yr old SD with no service whatsoever just turned 7 seconds after midnight!

When I walk to the watch box and put something on, the date is correct. That's about all that matters.
Also, these days, when I'm up passed midnight, I probably can't read my watch.

Need your expertise in this. My GMT IIc does not not change after midnight. Instead the date shows that it is "jammed" in between.

I monitored it last night, but I was too tired after the Manchester Utd-Chelsea game. Woke up this morning and saw that it has already changed to the 9th May.

Do I need to bring it to RSC?

No just change the date manually right around a few times that should cure the problem a bit of oil I expect on date wheel.

Mine has done the same thing off an on for years. A good whack with a rubber hammer about 5 past midnight usually solves the problem

Seriously, it used to bother me, now I just ignore it. Otherwise, the watch runs fine.

Did you buy your GMT IIc from an AD? If so, I'd take it in to them.

I have already brought my gmt to the RSC.

Have to leave it there for a week. Can only get it back on the 16th...

By the way, I only had my gmt for exactly a month. Bought it BNIB from a local AD on 9th April...

Luckily, I have my Deepsea to tide me over…

6 minutes after midnight for my Sub-C. As long as it snaps, and I don't have to worry about changing date in the "risky hours zone" (like with certain non-Rolex movements), it's fine with me
