Black Sub C Bezel Insert -What colour are the numbers
My older sub has bare aluminium/silver numbers, pix of the Sub C look white?? Are they, or just a trick of the light?

The material used is platinum (deposited), so I suppose the colour is 'platinum'.

I'm sure I heard somewhere in the Rolex Kool-Aid that the numbers were blasted with White gold... I could be wrong, though, one of the experts will be along directly.

Yes its Platinum coated maybe a few microns thick, the words Gold and Platinum sound expensive for marketing.But in reality the amount of precious metals are a very very tiny amount.
