Uneven gold border

Is it true that that an uneven gold border on the hour markings is very common on a submariner?

I'm not sure that I follow you.. The hour markers are 18k gold metal surrounds so they cannot be "uneven".

The Lume is a liquid painted/poured into the surrounds so there will be some variation..

However, the Sub is no different than any other Rolex in that regard...
