Tudor Chrono for a woman?

I shouldn't be spending so much time here lately because I'm getting way too interested in another Rolex (Tudor). I'd been thinking about a nice pre-owned 36mm DJ with white face, fluted bezel, romans and a jubilee dial, but the Tudor Prince Chronograph is starting to occupy my thoughts a lot... it's just so striking, and affordable where a Daytona isn't (at least, with my budget).

Does anyone out there have a wrist pic of this watch on a woman? I don't know much about the difference models, but the white dial with black subdials is especially handsome.

Is it a 40mm case? What's the lume like?

Dan Pierce, can you get your lovely wife to model one of yours? Please?

I see it's tritium lume. Is lume only on the hour markers and hands, and not the subdials?

Do you use the chrono functions?

Yes it came on a leather strap , I have since purchased a SS bracelet for it. The lume doesn't glow any more Its a Tiger model 79280P (polished lugs) . I off to golf now I take some more pics for this afternoon

i know its not a Tudor Chrono you are after, but my wifes Omega Speedy Date has a similar dial configuration as the Tudor, minus the colours and cyclops....

probably a good indication of the style on a hairless, lady's wrist

Pardoning my ignorance, Bill -- is the tachymeter bezel the one that looks like the Daytona's? Because I do prefer the look of the 12 hr, like yours. Going by looks alone, I prefer the black ring - nice frame for the dial.

I don't know if he sold it yet, but Dan was looking to move a Tudor Big Block with a 12 hour bezel.

I dun't remember which dial it has. Big Blocks are pre-Tiger share actual Rolex parts, such as, a crown with the Rolex Crown on it.

Thanks for the info. I've been checking the For Sale section....But there is much to learn before I make any decisions.

Lisa....it's very rare (if ever) that anyone notices your watch, there's been plenty of threads covering this area as you'll know......but....this watch has had more compliments from WIS and non-WIS than the rest of my watches put together....bang for buck as they say they cannot be beaten.....

Let me add a couple of pics too, with remark that my wrist is only 6.5 inches (and not that hairy ), so it might offer an idea of the looks on a slimmer wrist. This is also the watch that gets more compliments than any else of my watches.

The watch measures exactly 39.5 mm across the bezel, which is almost 1 mm wider than the Daytona. It is 14 mm thick (almost 2 mm thicker than the 116520), and it is 47.5 mm from lug end to lug end. The rounded case makes it sit close and nice on the wrist, and the older style implementation of the bracelet (and thinner links) also adds to a close nice fit. Still it is bigger than the Daytona.

Here is mine, that is one of the very last sold BNIB (to me) from an AD in January 2009.

It came like this:





But I added Tudor 605 end links (that I polished the middle parts on) and an Oyster bracelet from a Daytona 16520 to make it look like this:



This is really a cool look ... but I could not stop myself from going back to the original bracelet:



And just recently I added a new dial (and hands) to improve legibility, and also to get the modern - very affordable - version of the Panda Daytona 6263.



The watch sits higher, and is not as flat as the Explorer II, but with the Tudor Jubilee bracelet (or leather strap) and its rounded case I percieve it as a slightly better fit.

I have a hunch this watch will hold its value over time, too. I've taken hits on my two previous purchases - a lady DJ and a Date - and while I'm not into flipping watches per se, it's still good to factor in how well they maintain their value.
