I wouldn't SD is a classic. But if the PAM 90 speaks to you more...then go for it!

they seem to be about the same price... so, as far as financially, it seems a decent trade...

They are miles apart. Your SD is a classic, while the other is just another watch.

I personally would never do it...

PAM is a nice watch but the SD is a real classic..
Like others have said though - if the 90 speaks to you, go for it!

I would like to try a Panerai, but not at the expense of losing a SD.

Put this question on Paneristi and you will get the exact opposite response. when deciding on this type of thing you need neutral opinions. And the best one is your own! if you like the Pam, go for it! If you later regret getting rid of the sd, then you regret it. Life is too short; enjoy, and make those decisions with a smile!

I would not do it. The SD is great--the quintessential old school classic. Panerai, to me, has always been more about style and hype more than substance.
