Icon7 Coronet exposed

[IMG][/IMG]My new Daytona arrived today. I found a way to easily see the Rolex coronet at the 6 o'clock position. Just use a laser pointer at 30 degrees over the 6 o'clock position. The ring around the crystal lights up and you can see the coronet without magnification. Here is a crude photograph:

Coronet?

I received my SS Daytona w/black fACE earlier this week. Is there a "laser etched" crown on the new Daytonas? I see the coronet at the "12" but not a laser mark at 6 oclock??

The coronet is laser etched at the 6 o'clock position. It is very difficult to see without a magnifying glass. I used the laser pointer to highlight the imperfections in the crystal. So the etched crown shows.

I did the laser light on the crystal a little while ago (see my avatar), the effect is very interesting. The first photos is just red laser reflecting on the inner chapter ring, no attempt to see the cornet.

Passing any light (white, coloured laser) at an oblique angle across the crystal will reveal the coronet; the thing about the laser is that it is so focused, so when you catch the coronet, it really lights and thus the small crown is more visible to the naked eye.

The blue laser shot--not the best--shows how a coloured laser (bright and focused) makes the coronet more visible more easily. The close up
lit with regular white light.
