Sub date in window
There's been a lot of talk and interest about the end of the current tool/sports line of watches, and the eventual upgrade of the whole sports line to the new "bling" style.
Went shopping in Bury St Edmunds today, and there in the window of the local AD was a brand shiny new Sub Date. I've never seen one in the window of any AD before, so went in to try it on. The sales lady said that when it arrived she went through the waiting list as usual and no one wanted it, so they put it on general sale in the window. Is this the start of a decline in popularity for the current Sub date ? Or are people just waiting for the new updated version ???? Nice watch by the way, but I still prefer the non date For anyone in East Anglia who might want the Sub Date, the shop's number is 01284 754747 |

I always preferred the no date over the sub date but my fellow Rolex friend will steer me away from the no date.
The ardent fans will say that the cyclop is a trademark of Rolex and no way am I allowed to purchase one that is without the cyclop!! |

But even saying that, I really love the no date sub for its simplicity and beauty. I almost bought a pre-owned one recently, but the deal was just not good enough. I went back and looked at it twice, tho. It remains one of my favorite all time watches with a rich history. |

Here in AZ it's not uncommon to see the black face Sub Date in the general display cases of the AD's. It's probably the most popular Rolex here in the states so I suppose most AD's do whatever they can to carry as many as possible.

The only thing that keeps me from liking the no-date Sub is the fact that it is not a COSC certified.
