Bezels and bracelets
Hey all,
I'm new to this board and to Rolex. I recently purchased my first Rolex, the new Sub (116610LN). I was wondering if it is possible to easily have the bracelet switched between a leather band and the oyster bracelet. I love the oyster bracelet, but can see myself wanting to change it up in the future. Has anyone done this? Same for the bezel. Assuming it is easy to buy additional ones, can you have it switched from time to time? Thanks! |

Ceramic bezels
Changing to leather strap is not too difficult if you have the proper tools and if you know how to do it. The second proposition, re additional ceramic bezels, would be hard if not near impossible to accomplish. Ceramic bezels are not in the wild (or ADs) to be purchased easily. It mostly has to do with Rolex USA has a firm control on such parts. Others more knowledgeable will soon chime in to provide additional details.
Welcome aboard! |

Welcome to TRF, and congratulations on the Sub-c.
Bracelet removal is a piece of cake with a Bergeon 6111 or 6767F (for fine tip) to assist in removing the springbars releasing the band. Slight pressure on the endlink and retraction of springbar is all it takes. Easier if a screw is removed so you can deal with bracelet in two pieces. In our reference section Larry (Tools) has some tutorials here. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=44158 For the old 16610 it is fairly easy with a tad bit of skill to replace the bezel insert. With the new Sub-c..... forget about it. Since it is ceramic flexing could cause it to break. I have heard that there is a special fixturing for the removal/replacement of the ceramic insert.
