I believe Uncle AJ likes to photograph birds, so here's one for you.

Nice one but I don't like to see them wearing jesses.

I prefer seeing them in the wild as well, but the 2 weeks that I was in BC...I didn't seem too many birds of prey in the wild. I saw a few bald eagles, but they were so far away that my 70-200mm wasn't going to cut it.
What focal length do you usually use? |

Most of the time I use a Nikon 300mm 2.8 VR plus a X2 converter. For flight shots I prefer it at 300mm but some times it's just not enough lens and I have to add the converter. I also have a Tamron 200-500 which I put on a second body.

Here are a couple of hurried photos of a red tailed hawk taken with a 400mm lens. I was driving down the road and saw him in a tree in the middle of big field. I was afraid he would take off before I got my camera out of the case. I got ready as I put down the power window. As the window went down he turned, looked at me and flew off! The sound of the window going down from more than 100 yards away was enough to scare him away!
