Bracelet Link for a 5512

Hi Guys,

I was trying on my vintage watch and even with the adjuster all the way out, it still is too tight for me.

Do any of you know of a source for bracelet links? Thanks for any advice:-)

BTW the watch is an orig. 5512..

Thanks again

What type of bracelet? Rivet, folded link, solid link?

Folded Rivet that expands. There are tiny flat springs in the center link that allows the bracelet to expand and contract. Dont think the links are meant to be added or removed for sizing. Pretty much, one size fits all. Like any stretchable bracelet, it should fit "most" human wrists.

Links can be added or removed by carefully un-folding the center link. Are you saying that its too tight when all the links are fully stretch?

How big is your wrist? I'm guessing, at full stretch it will fit a 10inch wrist. Finding a broken rivet bracelet for parts on Ebay is probably your best option.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for posting. I did some research and this is the folded link, non-expandable bracelet. I can see how it could look that way. It's just terribly stretched out and it is adjusted to the largest setting now and it is tight. I know he took a link or two out of it when he purchased this in 1960-61ish, but he must have lost them. I like a size 71/4" for comfort.

I will look on Ebay to see if I can find them.. Take care

You might want to try contacting Steve Mulholland for links!

You have a 20mm USA made C&I Rivet bracelet on your watch.
Steve will probably have a link, then have a compatent watchmaker add it on for you.
I have many for the 19 mm, but none for the 20mm.

Rivet Link

Just thought I'd chime in, even though I'm a newbie!

You are, in fact, missing a link on the six-o-clock side of the bracelet - they originally came with five links on that side. Looks like somebody else had a skinny wrist like mine! I had my watchmaker remove a link on that side as well. It looks like you might be missing one on the twelve-o-clock side as well...

As for finding another, I'd try Steve again. He may have been busy, or just missed the email in his inbox.

You might want to consider having the whole bracelet rebuilt. It would be the right time to add a link when they do this.I am in FL pm if you need a recommendation.
