I have a little issue with my new 320. One of the quick change buttons is defected. It looks like the inner ring was a little hacked up at the factory. It works fine except the bar has a little more wiggle room. The button stays a little recessed in the ring for those of you who are familiar,when it should be sitting flushed. Like I said it works and the only thing Im concerned about is that because its not releasing all the way up like its supposed to it may ruin in the future due to wear and tear. And if that happens while you're walking down the street your watch will fall to the ground and get damaged. I really don't want to send my watch in or get another one. The watch is so far perfect and keeping great time. What would you do?

Are you reffering to the deloyant clasp? If so you shouldn't have to send the whole watch in, and maybe they can arrange a for something differently. Anyway if you just purchased the watch recently I would go back to my AD and express my concerns if nothing else.

Can you take a PIC and post to show us exactly what you are talking about?

OP - personally i couldn't live with this slight imperfection, but that's me. did you buy it from an AD? i would get it exchanged, repaired at the least.

Ah my bad, I wondered if that might be it later after posting. I forgot about this option. I would take it to my AD and get it addressed. Hopefully an exchange or a reasonable compromise could be reached, but a defective part isn't something I would want to live with.

I bought it online brand new from a dealer with an excellent reputation.
I already put a call in to him and will call him today to see how we'll proceed further. Thanks for your response, I really was stuck on this one!

You should take it to your ad and point out the issue. I would be worried if the lug pin would suddenly fall out and have the watch come loose. The quick strap change system is nice, though less safe than screw in. However I still do prefer the quick change buttons as opposed to screw ins.

the quick release pin strap changing system is a brilliant idea by Panerai.

given that the pin is the only security between your watch and strap, i would want it to be working perfectly. it's a spring loaded mechanism and pressed fit into the lug. it could be the button/spring is sticky and not releasing all the way. if you have an air gun available, i would remove the pin and try to blow out any dirt from within. if it fails the only choice is to send it back to the service center. if found faulty, most probably they will have to replace the entire case.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably just send it in to OP. It's not worth taking any chances of the watch falling off! I'll keep you posted.

I'd send it in if it's under warranty. If it stops working outside of warranty you're looking at a new case and those are several grand!

He's right. They can't just fix the button, the replace the case. Get it fixed now for free!!!!!

Are there any diagrams showing how the system works? Crazy that the whole case has to be replaced.....at least, from what I can tell (based on lack of posts), the system is usually quite reliable and problems, if they do surface, happen early (as in, a manufacturing defect).

At least, I hope that's the case (no pun intended).
