Am I crazy ?
The Panerai which I liked the most is the PAM360
I took my chance but without result this explains everything http://www.panerai.com/s_news_eve.xp...view_news_arch The Luminor for Paneristi’s Anniversary was launched on the Paneristi forum on 1st July 2010 and the same medium was used to provide instructions for ordering the watch. The 300 pieces produced sold out in the few minutes following the publication of the relative post. sold out in a few minutes The problem is that you can buy them second hand but the prize is nuts. Think about 4 times it's original listprice Now I have a chance to make a deal . I can get a PAM339 ( 8 giorni Marina Militare , composite) and I'm not very much interested in that watch because I have a PAM292 ( ceramic radiiomir) Since both are Radiomirs and both are black I don't need to have both BUT, the 339 sells wit a premium :-) which would make the 360 cheaper for me the 360 had a 5500 euro listprice, secondhand they are around 20K ( like said NUTS) but that seems to be the price so you pay 20K or you won't have one the 339 costs 10K euro and they sell for more or less 14 - 15 K now, the possible trade, somebody I know has a 360 and wants a 339 :-) and he can't get one I can get his 360 if I give him the 339 and pay another 3K cash Doing so I pay 13K for the 360 ( 10K list + 3K cash) Secondhand value is 15K + 3K So I still pay a big premium for the 360, it costs me 13K .... but that is much better than the 18 or 20 K without flipping the 339 right What do you think ? Don't do it, or go for it ? I know it is a lot of money but the 360 is such a gorgeous piece. A Panerai especially made for the Panerai collectors. And I know, it is a lot for a simple Panerai but this might be the most collectable Panerai since 1997, so they'll probably never become cheaper |

I want a 360 as much as any Paneristi but that's a lot of mullah. I can think of a number of watches I'd want more.

Love it. The "community" watch means so much to the people that got it that they'll flip it the first chance they'll get that isn't public...

Agreed that it is pretty weak to profit to such a crazy extent on a "community" piece. For me, having to pay four times list for this piece is 100% against the idea of the watch, but, that's just me.... |

And that people are selling them, sounds pretty normal to mee if you see the value If the premium was only 2 K most paneristi would keep it but at 4 times the price. Most people who buy these watch are working class, just like me And if somebody wants to give you 12 or 15K premium, well that is a lot of money. Most people need to work several months to save 15K ! |

Emotions and "community" aside....I voted no
It's still a costly piece...IMHO You are giving up a lot...then again..I like the 339 more than the 360 and I want to add a stealth piece...Double list is the most I would pay for the 360...that me though But knowing how much you love the piece...This deal would haunt you until it's done... Good luck!

If money is not an object go for it.
But if it is, I Think I would rather get the boutique editions and get them dlc-ed.

are you crazy? no, if you are searching for your "grail".
crazy price - yes, but whats new thesedays? i think if you really really want one - pull the trigger, otherwise the price will get "worse".. do you think the 360 price will stabilise eventually like the 232 and 249 nowadays? |

Sounds a bit crazy to me. However if money is no object then go for it.

I would trade for it, what ever you need to do to make it more affordable. I personally wouldnt get the 360 though, you can buy a lot of watches with 20k.

Crazy is subjective
If it makes sense to you, do it. I'd love a 360, but for the $, I'd rather get a 372 when available. But that's just me.
If the 360 is your grail, then definitely get it. |

I wouldn't. My reasoning -- you can dlc a 005 and get most of the way there to the look of a 360. You can't get anything like the 339. To me the 360 is not worth the premium.

IMO, I would get one at $13000 even tho the retail is at around $8000.
In the future, the prem is gonna be more than this, once they have stopped the production. Some of the die hard ristis can't even get one or waited for months/a year for this piece...if you have a chance and you don't have to wait that long, then get it at that price! But, You might wanna ask first what do you really see in this watch with $13000. If you think that $13000 can get you a 201A, 202A or pre V models, then that is wrong cause this is not a T dial nor has similar components to its predecessors...It's a LE/SE for paneristi, IMO... Anyway, I based my thoughts on collectible pieces, such as 127, when first came out in 03 was only $7500...now look at it...i can only look at it. Sorry, I don't really see much of a highly collectible piece that cost around low $10000...this might be a good opportunity for you to steal it. |

Just trying to focus on your questions:
Firstly, just a side comment: do you believe in fairy tales? Guess not...so, did you believe that those 300 pieces of 360 were sold through that post in minutes?? Just analyse how many people got it afterwards and were very thankful to P.com mods. Then, IMHO, 360 is intended to the community, if you got what it implies -- do you consider yourself a Paneristi just because you have Panerai watches? Sorry if this intro hurts your feelings, but the 360 is on the same verge of the 195 -- it was intended to the inner and chosen circle. And we the small guys were not invited. Would you buy your ticket to get in? Secondly, about the costs: some people just overlooked that you're talking in EUROS, not dollars - if 20K US$ weren't already too much... You've got a chance of buying a 339 at price list, it seems, and have a further chance of getting the 360 with 3k towards the 360 owner. If your numbers were correct about 360, so it's a good deal for you -- remember that 339 are still being released, still 700 to come -- and you can see clearly that lot of people are not buying on the grey market but waiting it to be delivered. In terms of watch, 339 is far superior in any aspect compared to 360. In terms of money, trading as you want it's favourable to you. In terms of passion, you are already biased to the 360 - but passion fades... I'd never do it, because the things I discussed . Your call! best regards and good luck! |
