Hello all. New member.

What Rolex would you recommend for a 35 year professional who wears the following:

Work: Director. Slim dress shirts and dress pants to work (no khakis or ties)- quality sleek dress shoes. Colors are often muted tones of grey, white, black blue, dark brown. No Blazers or Sportcoats.

on the weekends :
-Pants: Cargo shorts, Dark jeans.
-Shirts: Plain tee shirts, sweaters, button up shirts (mostly plain) with sleeves up, polos,
-Shoes: Addidas sambas , flipflops, desert boots

What would you recommend! and why?

I'm trying to debate between SUB-C SS, SUB-C TT, GMT 2C TT, GMT2 C.

Of those i'd choose the TT GMTC. But i would also recommend you to try a DJ or a Daytona as they are a little thinner casewise.

Shiny ceramic bezel. PCLs to dress it up a bit. Little touch of green with the GMT hand. Works great in any setting...sport, dress, whatever..

I will go with the Sub...but perhaps 16610 rather than 116610. It is just the perfect size and retains more of the classical look. However the bracelet in 116610 wins hands down.

I reckon SUB-C SS or GMT2 C SS.

Just decide whats more useful to you, GMT function or 300M water resistance.

And try them both on and follow your heart.

37 yrs old I bought my first Rolex - SD 16600 - loved it - perfect with suits and jeans. Fancied a change, bought a GMT IIC 116710 which is great but I'm selling it to go back to the classic SD or a Sub ND - I prefer the more classic, non-maxi dial models - and neither are the pcl's (polished centre links) very me - you can't go wrong with a 16600 or a 14060(M) - although the Sub ND is more a reflection of the old Subs, the 16610 (date model) has become a classic in its own right. the GMT 16710 - 3186 (cal) would be a good buy, too, but pricey nowadays - that said, the SD 16600 and the Sub date are pricey - I think the 14060(M) is a value buy today. I think you carry less risk of making the wrong choice if you go for the non-ceramics as oppose to the new ceramic maxi dial watches.
all the above said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's so personal - no-one, sadly, can make the choice for you.

Sea-Dweller is what you need! If you could have only one watch, the SD is it. Tough as nails, and good for any occasion.

Could never go wrong with Submariner as well.

Having own multiple Subs including 2 Sub Cs and currently a GMTIIC, I would highly recommend the GMTIIC. Fits with anything. The GMTIIC 100m water resistance is more than anyone needs. Nobody NEEDS the 300m water resistance of the Sub. While the the GMTIIC is 'more blingy" than the Sub which is rather bland, I would not consider it a "blingy" watch. You also get a bit of color with the green on the GMTIIC as well as 3 timezones. And believe it or not, you can use the bezel for timing ALMOST as well as the Sub. The GMTIIC in my opinion, is the best, most practical all around watch Rolex makes.

First and foremost welcome to TRF. I would suggest going with a Sea-Dweller. All-time classic, timeless, sophisticated, looks great dressed down or when wearing a black tie. Even better when you are by the sea.
