Icon9 Terrrrrible week... (dogs)

Well as the title says, this has by far been one terrible week. It started about 6 months ago when my 5 year old Cocker Spaniel (Sadey) had a rather large lump removed from her hind quarters. Once removed it had "dirty margins" as the Dr. was not able to remove it all. Long story short it began growing very aggressively almost immediately after removal.

Fast forward 5 months to last week and we are back at a specialist with a diagnosis of a soft tissue sarcoma cancer than has unfortunately spread to her lungs and some other internal organs. My poor puppy that has brought my wife son and I nothing but happiness and joy over the last 6 years now has 2-4 months to live. This has been terrible for my wife and I and I just wanted to share with everyone her eon TRF with pets to give them an extra hug tonight as you never know when something like this can happen.

Just as my wife and I have come to terms with this we also had our 2 year old Boxer (Mia) who was also scheduled to have a very small lump (pea size) removed from the side of her body this Tuesday. Bad timing but with her age and wonderful health this was of no immediate concern to us. Well the surgery went great and she is recovering well however we received another call from our Vet this evening...

Unfortunately the pathologist has determined this small lump to be a MCT (Mast Cell Tumor) which is also a form of cancer. Apparently this is very common in this bread however due to her being so young her outlook will hopefully be much better. We now need to get her in for an ultrasound and some X-rays to determine if this has metastasized.

I just cannot believe that this has all happened in a week. Our two puppies are part of our family and I never imagined this would happen at these ages and especially not in a week. Love your pets folks, today is all we have and tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Just wanted to share with you all what has been on our mind and ask for your thoughts and prayers and my wife is completely besides herself... What a week. Thanks for listening, I will keep you all updated as we obtain more information but things are pretty down in our home tonight.

Cheers

Adam

Here is a pic of my boxer Mia.

So sorry to hear about your pups. Having two dogs I can understand how much they mean to your family. Hang in there, that is just too much to have in one week no less.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

Brian

Animals are the best companions, however they do not last as long as we would like them to. I do hope for the best.

Poor pods!

Sorry to hear. It's shitty enough dealing with this one at a time, but to get both hit at once is horrific.
