There's grails and then there's GRAILS!
I'm sure this resonates with a lot of us WIS... but there's grails and then there's GRAILS. A grail is something tough to acquire BUT a GRAIL is something that you know you may NEVER acquire... something either so rare, unique, or just so costly that unless the lottery drops onto your lap, there's no way.
For example: My grail is something like the RG Daytona w/ black dial and RG subdials. My GRAIL is Platinum DDII w/ ICE BLUE Dial +/- Diamond romans! What's yours?

My "grail" is something Jaeger LeCoultre but my "GRAIL" is an A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual.

If we are talking Rolex, I'd say the all white gold Submariner +- diamonds, platinum Presidential, or gold Daytona....
Current (possibly attainable) grail would be a crispy DeepSea. |

Ah yes... Deepsea is crispy. I had it on my wrist last week and am kicking myself for not getting it last year.

Patek Calatrava 5127G
I know I'll never get one, but it makes my heart race. The very fact that it has a screw-down crown and is water-resistant to only 30m and costs $20,000 on a leather strap makes it a horribly impractical timepiece in my opinion, but one does not question too much the affairs of the heart.

GRAIL: Ive seen the platinium DD with an ice blue roman meteorite dial. I can safely say that I will never own that watch.
It took almost 10 years of dreaming to get my first grail- blusey. Then my second grail came quickly, as a colleague had the IRS man "a-callin" and I picked up his YG DD champange roman dial. |

My GRAIL is a tourbillon, probably a JLC tourbillon model like the Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2: That's obviously not realistic, because I'm spending my time on a forum rather than developing the billion-dollar patent that would be necessary to own that watch, so probably another JLC: It's just brilliant. It evokes more emotion than any Patek I've ever seen, and it's much cheaper, yet just as elegant and rich in haute horlogerie.

Hautlence HL2_0 and Greubel Forsey
The Hautlence HL2_0 a miracle of modern watch construction
and a rarely spoken of brand! Then add to this the wonder brand of Greubel Forsey and the Double Tourbillon and these two brands are the kind of unobtainable Grails, i wish i was capable of owning..but the cost is totally ridiculous! |

My GRAIL is a everose White dial day-date --- I'm still so young and with gold prices going up, who knows if I'll ever justify the price :p |

I hate two beautiful watches in my collection which are my grails and I adore them.
Very hard to have a one grail as there are too many watches to list that I would like to own as well and that includes Rolex vintage and current models. |

Think positive Joey and that way your GRAIL can become a grail

There's nothing wrong with setting your standards high, that's why it's a grail, or GRAIL. If it's easily attainable, it's not much of a grail.

My Grail is a YG Daytona on brown croc strap.
My GRAIL would be something by either Lange and Sohne or Patek. I'd really have to sit down and think about it. |

For me my grail would be a PAM203 1950 Luminor with the original 8 day angelus movement. Unless I win the lottery I don't think I'll ever own one of those!!
Slightly more realistic and my second choice would be a PAM127 from 2003. Virtually the same watch but with a standard eta movement and a fifth of the price. I'd definately sell something to fund one if the right watch came along!!

My grail is a hulk, my GRAIL is an Urwerk 103T. Either the Mexican Fireleg or white gold.

Grail: AP Royal Oak 15300ST
GRAIL: Patek Nautilus 5980 I know it's a Rolex forum, but I'm 100% content with my Sub-C, and cannot find another Rolex I would want. Until the new SS Daytona with ceramic bezel arrives

I am lucky I have my grail watches already. Maybe a PP with a tourbillion, then again maybe not.
