My AD is nuts

I was asking if they had any ladies size straps in stock. Here is their response....

Quote:
Unfortunately what we have are not ladies
sizes; they are standard sizes. And we cannot order straps unless we see
the watch and buckle first.

Fine...I call the flipping boutique and you can lose the business.

I got the same run around when trying to order a strap from my AD,guess they don't make much of a profit on a strap and feel it's not worth their time, shame they don't see the big picture thought.

I got similar / worse treatment from an AD. I ranted about it over a year ago or so. I go directly to the Boutique now. Pay through the nose for OEM gators and deal.

It seems that paranoia and or smugness has gotten the best of some AD's. I can see where they might not want to offer a gen product to someone wearing a fake, but when it comes to insulting a gen owner things have gotten out of hand. The sad thing is beyond this self-righteous attitude, not many know more about the watches they sell than how to rub finger prints off them and run a register.

I'm very surprised as well guys.

I've bought a considerable amount from them. Not like a whale or anything, but a lot worth consideration. All my wife's jewels come from there with one exception. Bought both of my Rolex there.

What is the deal with having to see the watch and clasp?

crazy......do people really put real OEM straps and buckles on fakes??

well, maybe, the thought is that there aren't as many reproduction straps and buckles, so, there might be some shady people out there using OEM bits to make the watch seem more legit?

no matter what, though, mik, they should know you, so, i don't understand what the issue is. you might have just stumbled upon a clueless sales rep.....ask to talk to someone you know??

He knows me, along with the owner and another sales guy very well. I just don't understand. Really makes me questions them.

frustrating for sure, since you've given them so much business. but, not worth getting worked up about (not that you are, just a figure of speech). just put the ball back in their court, "remind" them of your business with them, and innocently ask why they are trying to inconvenience you? maybe there's some policy or something? if so, while annoying, you might not feel obligated to drop them....

anyway, so far, i haven't bought an OEM strap from a boutique or AD. wonder if would need to produce the watch before purchase? what if someone were just buying a present for a friend?

It's bizarre how ADs treat customers this way when it comes to watches... Can you imagine someone buying a $10,000 diamond ring being treated like this?

Chad deliverered perfectly. Threw in a 2011 catalog and a little notebook that is Panerai related!

Quick and dirty iPhone pic.

Now...I just need the watch to show up!
