Icon5 To hack or not to hack...

Like many here I'd guess, I swap b/t four watches every few months. I don't really like the idea of watch winders (not natural movnt./constant repetiv./etc.etc.) so I just use the crown & do that wind thing...My question is, is there any benefit in pulling the crown(ie.hack) when watch is somewhat charged, when I go back in 2/3 months & un-hack will the power have been stored or have naturally run out. Any benefits or any harm known as a result, just something I have been curious about.

I would let the watch run down if it is going to be sitting for a month or so.

This does seem like the best course of action.

I feel if a Rolex is not being worn, it should just be let to wind down. Less wear and tear on the movement, and with the new oil's being used today will not harden up like the old movements.

The Term hack is a military term for synchronisation between a group of watches and thats what the hacking mechanism is for.Its just for setting the watch to a accurate time and is not meant to be used to stop the movement for storing for any period of time etc just let it run down and stop.Myself just cannot see any point of a watchwinder for any Rolex oyster watch. They not needed and for what they are some winders are bordering on the ridiculous expensive .
