High School Reunion Rolex

Recently had my 30th high school reunion. Who'd have thought one of my classmates was into vintage Rolex? I asked if I could post a pic of his watch - a 1959 Zephyr. I think it's beautiful. He bought it in New York shortly after high school graduation. Thought you might like to see it, too. If anyone has any info about this watch, please share.

Nice watch! I think it's called the Zephyr because of that bezel style.

Great story & pic Lisa, what memories it must hold for your classmate

There's one for sale here, looks a birth-year bargain for someone to me !

Cross-hair dial....I'd forgotten I knew that, don't know whether to blame the pinot or senility

Nice one. One thing I've never seen on a Rolex of that period is the fact that is has no Swiss or something under the 6.

Isnt that dial refinished, the top line doesn't line up perfectly?
