Submariner No Date

Sorry guys, another dumb question from Big Shurl. Is it possible to turn my no date Sub into a date Sub with cyclops? If so what would you estimate this endeavor would cost in dollars? Thanks in advance for bearing with me and suffering another dumb question.

well, you would need:
1: a new movement and crown with a new date wheel
2: a new dial
3: a new crystal.

it woudl be cheaper to by a pre owned 16610

You could cut a tiny square hole in the original dial. Or drill a nice round one and look 'different'.

As has been said not much is interchangeable.

Ok that's what I figured. I was wishfully pondering a nice letter to Rolex asking to please add a date to my wristwatch so I could know what day it is; And Rolex saying no problem faithful customer

at leats you have a sense of humour
enjoy your watch or trade up to a 16610 if you would like a date

Actually you would need to replace EVERYTHING except the crown, hands, and bracelet.

NOTHING else is interchangeable between a Sub and a Sub Date.

It can certainly be done, you just have to think of it in financial terms rather than watchmaking.

1. Convert your current submariner no-date into the currency of your choice.
2. Add some more currency
3. Convert to a 16610 at your local AD or other trusted seller

(Or skip step 3. and go to four instead)

4. Add even more currency
5. Keep it coming, not there yet
6. Convert to a 116610

Ta-Da!

Size and wear!!

Done and done!

Don't mod it. Just keep it the way it is. If you really want a date model, trade it in or sell it and get a sub date or sea dweller.

Here's how you do it: Sell the watch and buy the Sub date. EOM.

When I'm wearing the Daytona, women ask me for dates, so I don't need one on my wrist.
