Icon10 My new 1680

Got it last week, took it to local AD to have them check it out, thought I'd post a couple pics... It's not the most perfect example, bezel has been replaced at some point, pearl is chipped off, it's been polished a couple times, and it has it's share of dents and dings... but it's from my birth year ('77), runs great, matching hands and dial, and it's mine!

Thanks to everyone on the forum who answered questions and helped me with my search!

...now the only question is, what's going to fill the empty space in my winder???

Looks great. Matching dial and hands.....scuffed up bezel insert....and the little dings make it cool imo. Congrats on your birth year watch find.

Thanks guys!

Todd, yea, I agree, the dings definitely give it personality, and I'm already looking for a 1675!

Nice, Clay. Also in Chicago, I see!

I've been enjoying my 1978 example, just back from the watchmaker. Not a birth year, alas (but I'm a little older)...

Very nice Adam, that '78 looks super clean, nice fat font bezel, crisp lugs, what a beauty! Might I ask who you go to for service here in Chicago?

I was looking and noticed two different "9" style alphabets in the cyclops.
What gives?

the cyclops on mine has been buffed down a bit (most likely a bad chip in it at one point) so the magnification is a bit wonky. Rest asured though, the date wheel has wide open 6's and 9's.
