Hmm... I assume you are a gay couple....and would ask a few questions;

1) What are you two wearing now?

2) Do you want to "match" with the same model?

3) Are you looking for more of a tool/sports watch or something that is a bit more at home in business/formal attire?

BTW.. Nice BMW 3.0 coupe

No, wrong assumption. The black dial Rolex is mine and the white dial Rolex my brother-in-law's. I've been meaning to get a photo of these two watches together but kept forgetting to do it. His family came to visit my family at our cottage in Muskoka for the August long weekend, and so I took this photo. Last time I had the idea his watch was in for service

BTW The weather was great in Muskoka this weekend. Here's a shot I took this morning:

Sorry about that.. . but you must admit that "his-his" creates the impression of a "couple" just as "his-hers" does. I was slowly workign it out if you note my other threads.

Yes, however that connotation only becomes obvious (to me) in retrospect.

Thats alright, the best part of being in a gay relationship is you can share your watches with your partner.

Since you have two Daytona's I am wondering what your point is with the way you phrased the post/question and suspect you need to provide more claification/detail to get anything out of this post.

as for which of the Daytona's I prefer, Im not really into Daytona's and have never given them much thought. I think I would have to see how they look as they are worn to choose between the two but my inital lean is to the white dial as well.

White dial would be my preference in this case.

I think you have mentioned you wife in an older post and you also have commented the best Rolex is the one you give as a gift. Are you looking to give his and his rolexes as a gift? Regardless, I am back to the same three questions I asked in my forst post to this thread....

Both are beautiful but I like the white dial Daytona. I did notice a few differences between the two which are as follows:

- White Dial has red "Daytona" lettering while the Black Dial does not
- On the 6 o'clock position, the Black Dial has 2 circles flanking "T Swiss T" while the White does not
- The seconds hand on the White Dial seems to have a "thinner" arrow head compared to the Black Dial
- The crown on the Black Dial seems to be wider than the crown on the White Dial
- The " Rolex Oyster Cosmograph" lettering sits further down from the Rolex Crown on the Black Dial as compared to the White Dial

Are the 2 watches from the same year? Both are beautiful but the White Dial seems to be the more attractive to me.

Btw you must have a lot of fun at your lake house with that slide and diving board!

I purchased my (black faced) watch new in 1978, although the date of manufacture is 1972 (based on the serial number). My brother-in-law's watch was bequeathed to him by his brother who passed away in 2007. His brother also purchased the watch new, and I would guess the year was circa 1984. Don't know what year it was made. I do know that my watch inspired his watch purchase.

You have a keen eye! Those circles are actually "sigmas" which is the symbol for gold and (apparently) indicate that the face of my black watch has white gold hour registers, whereas the white face watch does not. Apparently faces with white gold hour registers are fairly rare?
