Well, I kind off like it, but there is a bit too much orange on the dial (hour markers at 3,6,9) plus the orange second's hand.
I do like the shape of the second's hand, though, since it is a revival of the second's hand that was on some of the older, original Milgauss models. What I again do not like are the polished centre links and lugs......it simply does not fit a "tool watch". But what I would like to know: These "funny" looking hour markers (the orange ones!): Do they glow in the dark?????

I think its a really cool watch! It is also a great combo of a plain classic watch (like an air king) with white or black dial and a sports watch size @40mm (like the sub)

Well, it's definitely a funky looking watch, I guess I could wear it, but not with formal clothing (i.e., suit and tie). What I don't understand is why all these rollies are coming out with a "scratch magnet" center link!

I think the "green glass" version will be the one to have.

I like the Milgauss, that being said I can not understand in today’s world why one would have a watch without the date function? I could look at the date on my watch ten times a day and with everything going on in a single day I would still have to look at the date. For the type of money Rolex wants for the Milgauss a date should have been included.
Unless the date function would some how interfere for what the watch was designed to do. If Rolex was trying to stay in tune with the Milgauss of the past, than I see that as an interesting choice as the first Milgauss for many was a less popular model. An Explorer I costs less than the Milgauss will, when I look at the Milgauss for me, I still see an Explorer I. I truly am on the fence about if I shall buy one. I am on the list for the green crystal addition. I shall have a fair amount of time to think about this acquisition if I will or will not buy it as I do not foresee the Milgauss coming in to my AD anytime soon. |

I tend to agree with Tombstone on the Milgauss - Esp about the date the resemblance to Explorer.
However, the Milgauss has still got its plus points. It has got a retro look which I think is really cool. Dateless means it will look balanced for the dial symmetry - just like the 14060M. I think Rolex aims to market this piece as one of the timeless classic. |

At a perfect 40 mm and with the new look, I think it would be a big hit. Pity about the no-date bit!!

If you have a watch without a date, you get use to it. There are these things called "Calendars" that hang on the wall, and these things we talk into called mobile phone that have dates as well.
The new Milgaus is much different than the Explorer. It has the newer improved movement, new bracelet/clasp, and also has a larger size and also the 80,000 A/M anti-magnetic feature. Personally think it is a fine watch, but would have preferred it without the orange and a Maxi Dial. Think what they should have done is combined the Milgaus and the Explorer. The 40mm size and antimagnetic properties along with lightning bolt second hand. Then put Triangle at 12 and maxi dial improvment and maxi hands. Call it the Milguas Explorer. |

If I'm in the middle of the road or driving my car and need to see the date instantly, there's no damn calendar hanging around anywhere!!! I never carry a mobile phone (too bloody fiddly for my large fingers), so for me a DATE should be INSTANTANEOUS (mere flick of my wrist) - no mucking around or fiddling/farting around. JJ

now that it's 40 mm, I could get real used to that watch even though I'm a hardcore sub guy.
JJ, I can't believe you aren't drolling all over that. After all, it's your 40 mm date just (esentially) that you've been asking for. |

The case size is perfect, but the dial is not all that HOT. Sorry, but except for the new TT GMT-II, none of the models which came out of Basel have any kind of appeal to me. I'd stick with the traditional and current models. JJ

I tend to disagree with this. Rolex is introducing bling for almost all of its lineup. So expect more bling to come~!

All of it's models are going to become more blingy cause it is luxurious timepiece company. It is normal if all it's line becomes blingy. I will be disapointed somehow cause i prefer simple stuff cause behind simplecity lies true greatness. The older models that they were making seem to me more simple and elegant. Nowadays most of the watches that are manufactured are made to catch people's attention with all that bling stuff.
