Authentic Rolex Submariner??

Hi All,

I'm brand new to this Forum and I look forward to having some great discussions!

I'm the proud owner of a Rolex Air King which I have had for about 5 years now. I'm thinking about buying my second rolex and I wanted some help from the group. I am thinking of buying a Submariner from a random person who has an ad for sale. I am not good enough to be able to spot a fake without a little help so I thought I'd see if anyone could help me by looking at the pictures.

Please let me know if you see any issues with this watch.

Thansk!

can't see much from the picture but is the "b" missing from submariner wording in the dial shot. Pictures are a bit grainy for me to tell...

I believe it is covered by the end of the seconds hand if you look closely....

First there is no straight shot of the dial...this is always bad scammers try to take photos from angles were you cannot get a good look in order to try to hide imperfections.

Ask the seller for a good straight on shot of the dial, a shot between the lugs, and the bracelet.

Thanks for the info. I will post more pics tonight. The seller agreed to meet me at an AD to authenticate. I'm assuming that the AD would be able to take out much of the doubt. They are charging me $125. That seems reasonable o know I'm getting the real deal.

Seems like most agree the watch is real. So I retract my concerns.

I wish I just knew more or could spot a fake better I sometimes feel like it's 50/50 unless it's one of those blatant fakes.

Thanks guys. I'll be taking it to an AD for an authentication just to be sure. How accurate are they? I would assume they have to get pretty deep into the watch...atleast to charge $125!

If they are going to charge you 125 then a watchmaker better open it up verify and then pressure test it.

If it's just going to be a sales person giving it the once over save your money.

Take it to a Rolex Service Center for about the same price (a little more actually liek $150) they appraise it for you. During appraisal they have to make sure everything about the Rolex is genuine this includes opening it up and inspecting the movement. You can use the appraisal letter for insurance as well later if you decide to insure it.

id get it appraised by the rolex center for 150 and then you get paper work which will help increase resale value down the road. doooo it

Is it the same watch in both sets of pics?

For instance the Crown with "rolex crown logo" is in different positions in the first set of pics and the second set of pics.

Crown guards looks very suspicious on the first set of pics too.

I would only do this deal face to face, and with an appraiser .

after the initial reactions , and the current reaction , it would have to be certified properly before id be happy , face to face transaction and the 150 would be an investment , maybe even spilit the cost with the seller.
