I took my rolex swimming!!

OMG I went swimming with my sub, I noticed I have suntan oil on it now, and finger smudges on the crystal, OMG there are a few more scratches that Im sure were not there before I went swimming and MY GREEN sticker has been gone for years. I dont know what to do?!? Also what about the suns rays, is it bad for my watch?? will the watch turn a darker shade of steel now?? and since its pool water and not certified Rolex cleaning water will that make my watch run erratically ??? should I call the AD in the morning???

please help me!!!

Damn! I did the same today with my GMTIIC. Pool water,
suntan oil, lots of UV rays. And best of all, I loved it!

I've only had the one I'm wearing over here for about 2 months and I'll bet it's at least as scratched as your's is.

One has to be mindful that some people are at different levels of knowledge and experience.

One should treat new members (who may appear to ask a basic question) with a proper degree of respect.

when people ask what to do about scratches, and finger prints on a crystal one has to wonder when some common sense will evolve. i respect them all , just dont agree with some of the minutia that clutters the board, yes JUST LIKE THIS POST IT, but i wanted to make a point

Well, you did make your point, and that was to put down all the questions you find silly...
Why not just ignore them and move on to something you find stimulating!
One could also link these type of "funny" post to be cluttering the boards and alienating the new members who would like to learn. That's the other side of the coin here!
I think if you re-read Lol-x post above, it simply tells you that respect is not about sarcasm, it's about being helpful and supportive regardless of right or wrong....

These post are only compounding that point and pushing others away at the same time.....
Something to think about the next time you cross a thread you don't agree with!
Will you hit the back button, or post in a negative way???

Food for thought.

Your first mistake was to remove the watch from its protective box.

Please send it to the RSC immediately!!!
You must put it in a Hellman's Mayonnaise jar, hermetically sealed (to keep the pool water from evaporating), by FEDEX Overnight (because decay has already begun), Insured (because Rolexes are routinely stolen), Verified PayPal addresses only....well you know why....

Your watch is fine, clean it off with some tap water and soap, scrub everywhere on the watch with a soft toothbrush. It should look nice and shiny! Either than that a suggestion might be, if your worried so much about your Submariner... I think you should just send it to me

There are more threads at this point that make fun of the overly cautious threads than there are overly cautious threads.

It stopped being funny a long time ago, all you're doing is adding to the spam.

Agree with both the op and the mods...at some point a forum gets full of all the information it can hold and there just isn't very much more to add about Rolex. I think we're close

I'm on a timeshare forum, and there just isn't one darn thing more to say about them...do you close the forum then? If there's nothing to add, then no more posts?

Agreed, the sarcasm (guilty) is excessive sometimes, but it's done with humor and not hate; hopefully, all involved can see that
