No,Just over polishing.
If it's been done by a professional there should be no issues. With older watches you have to expect a certain amount of refinishing. |

Do you realize this is a '77-'78 watch?

Nothing wrong with the age a maintained Rolex will last 50+ years.

thanks, everyone, for your vote of confidence. it arrived this afternoon and i'm really happy with how it looks (and it keeps time pretty damn well, too).
one question: it has the hack setting, but it does not have quick-date setting. is this to be expected of this model/age? |

I believe the quick set is with the DateJust models after a certain year. The Date set by winding through the hours until achieved date. Also the Date I believe is a 32mm compared to 34mm with the DateJust of that time.

I think you meant 34mm opposed to 36mm for the Datejust. Watch looks good and with a plain old kitchen scrubbing cloth it would look even better. Do not be put off by the age, Rolex are made to last a life time. Thats a watch that is going to lead to an addiction and many nights browsing this forum looking for the next deal...

Looks good to me as well. Date models aren't very counterfeited in my experience, especially vintage ones like the one you posted.

After rEadind about all these people getting there watches stolen in south America and this watch comming from south America would have me a little worried.. You don't want to send it to rsc for a service and have it confiscated for being stolen..
