GMT for my dad

Well Im happy to say I just bought my dad aGMT with a pepsi insert. I'm not giving it to him till Christmas. My dad is a retired NFO "Naval Flight Officer" he retire in 1992 and thought Christmas was close enough to his 20 years of retirement.

My sister is going to help me put together a little folder together that we will have a letter of appreciation from us for his service in the Navy and as a father. A letter of thanks from my sister and I for guidance with our naval careers. A list of his naval achievements, duty stations, and with the info from TRF the history of the GMT

James

What a nice gesture!

You should let him have it before Christmas. He'll start enjoying right away instead of having to wait 4 more months.

I learned one lesson the hard way here, and it is that you should make sure you know what the guy will like. I got my dad a nice SS watch, and he never wears it -- ever. It's a total waste of a good watch, sitting there going to rot. Beware.

VERY VERY Cool James!

What Squadron(s) was your father in and what aircraft did he fly? Where was he stationed? Mirimar? North Island? Oceana? I might know him.

Dad did his whole career with VQ-4 up in the North East I was still young for that one. He then was VQ-3 at Barbers Point, Hawaii, then went to ACSC "Air Command Staff College in Montgomery Alabama, then back to Barbers point VQ-3, he was then the XO of the YN school at Meridian, Mississippi where he retired. And then went to StratComm Wing one "VQ-3, VQ-4" in OKC, Ok as a civilian. Oh and C-130's were the aircraft.
