Sorry, I didn't mean for this to be a riddle. Today, it is bizzare to see the name of a diving shop, or any sports supply store on Rolex certificates. We'd see the name of some famous jewelry store or other Rolex AD.
But in the early 70s, this was a tool watch, so you'd expect it to be sold at a sports store where you'd buy other diving equipment. Another reason why I love vintage. These watches weren't meant to be worn as man-jewelry, but used on your dives or other aquatic fun! They weren't pampered and so the ones that survive today are truly special!

Mark, is needless to say, top shelf!
Virginia Beach, major military installation near by. Scuba diving has always been a big sport down there. |

Great watch and seller. That diving hobby was surely expensive back then:)

I gotta suspect that price will go up over the next few days. Nice looking piece, and I agree that it's a vintage breath of fresh air (LoL!) to see where it was sold.
One issue I do always have with looking at watches of the vintage era -- even a P.N. Daytona -- is that by today's standards the bracelet always seems to feel rattley to me. They never feel "solid" enough to me, but then again, they technically weren't as solid as they are now. Also, is there any concern between the date difference from the watch case and the bracelet? No major concern there. Those bracelets were often changed out and are very expensive today, so its nice just to get a period correct one. This one has the added bonus of being dated so close.

I've tried to bid on 1 or 2 of Mark's eBay auctions in the past - they always get sniped in the last 30 secs and always achieves top dollars. That is why Mark is using this outlet vis-a-vis VRF, TRF etc. The dude is a professional!

He sure gives a thorough description of the watch. Even states it has been polished. I haven't seen many of these kind of descriptions being given.
Sounds like a real nice watch.
