Disappearing Rolex , the whole lot ........

A local jewellers in the North East of England had a sizeable collection of special Rolex watches in the window for the past 5 years or more.

They always had a window full of diamond encrusted daytonas & diamond encrusted ladies watches as well as standard models.

The full lot has disappeared , they are all gone . They just have a window full of cheap watches now not one Rolex of any kind.

They are not even in the shop .

Never seen a disappearing act like that before.

Surley someone has not just bought the lot ? some were £20k+ each

Most likely is they have lost their Rolex Status and no longer carry the brand!

'Independant' as in only sell used, or deal in new as well?

Then my guess is they are either transfered to an affiliated store, or sold them as a wholesale package!?!?!

I agree with you 100% there are many greys and dealers who have millions in cash and cannot get watches at the moment as Rolex has tightened the noose and closed many AD's. Getting new watches at a discount will prove to be next to impossible IMHO in the near future as the BIG pool of dealers is having a hard time.In the last month I have witnessed the once dealers who offered discounts are now aggressive buyers in the used market as they cannot get new anymore at any meaningful discount. Keep in mind when Rolex does its next price increase the Submariner and GMT SS models will be near $9000.00 they are not moving now a $7000 so a grey would have to buy lower than this and those days are done.
Maybe one of these guys walked in?

Very odd indeed. I'd expect a gradual thinning. Maybe some made a generous offer for the whole lot they couldn't pass up.

I'm not being smart here, why don't you just go in and ask them?
Must be open sometime?....

Cheers
