Will the a new Orange Hand fit on the 40mm Expy II ?

I am not sure how much room to spare - if any - there may be.

I think the new orange hand - replacing the red 24 HR hand - on the smaller watch (white dial) would be a great combo / best of all worlds.

Of course sourcing an orange hand may be tough for a while!

Any opinions?

Not at all! I love the idea!

If memory serves, I think I asked Larry (Tools) if he thought it could be done when the new version was confirmed at Basel.

I can't remember offhand if there is any red script on the old Exp II which might look weird... Off to look at piccies...

No red script on Expy II...just wasn't sure if the orange hand was a different length.

Hmm...

No red script (don't know where I got that into my head from!) so I think it would be übercool if the hand would fit.

For my taste I'd want to take a chisel to the cyclops and then it would be perfect!

Not sure about the length...

It does have the long thin bit on the end off the orange hand... I guess you could snip a millimetre off if it was too long...

Given the difference in the 15xx and 3xxx movements as well as the hand stack I'm not sure it would work.

These guys might sell you the orange hand they use on their custom Exp II ?

(although I am guessing that you are after the vintage/new design of 24hr hand)

Cannot see any reason why not both are 3 series movements but would think the hand would be quite difficult to get.

You can source out an aftermarket 1655 orange hand on the bay for no money at all but it won't fit the 3185 movement (per the manufacturer of the hands). How accurate this statement is, I dont know...... Must be nice though.....
